Abergavenny

Abergavenny is a very quaint place. We went for a walk after having a much needed rest.
Tony tried to climb the wall around the castle.
It is an old Norman castle.

There are plenty of colourful flowers lining the streets.
And interesting buildings

There are numerous op shops in High Street.

One is Henry VIII grammar school

There is also a Market which we visited in the next day to buy some food.

And plenty of pubs...

We had our first 'real' meal for dinner at the Angel Hotel. Very very yummy!

Dubai - London - Abervagenny

Started our journey to London at the Emirates Lounge. YUM!

Lovely food, relaxing and a couple of glasses of Moet.

Only a 6 hour flight from Dubai to London. Then a taxi to the Leonardo hotel because the wait for the hotel bus would have been 30 minutes. Only cost a few pounds more than the hotel bus!

After a well earned sleep and jet lag we took the advice of the hotel staff we caught the local U3 bus to the airport to catch the Heathrow Express to London, Paddington. This time I caught the correct train!

At Paddington Station we ran into ...

There was a fantastic Gillies and Marc statue nearby and I posted a card to Lily and Jasper.

After a couple of hours we boarded the train to Newport, Wales, then to Abergavenny. The train to Abergavenny only had TWO carriages so it was very very packed with people. Luckily it was only 3 stops.

Inside Abergavenny Hotel, where we will stay tonight.

Day in Dubai - Wednesday

Today we took it a bit slower.

A morning swim after breakfast in the hotel pool. Bear joined us for breakfast.

Then we caught the metro to Dubai Mall and Burj Khalifa to have a look

Bear enjoyed saying hi to the camel.

We stopped for a drink as our feet were sore.

We went to the Museum of the future in the afternoon after afternoon tea at the Club.
